My Brother Can’t Possibly Be a Fallen Magical Girl Chapter 1 Part 1
Chapter 1: The Enthusiastic Female Colleague (Page 1)
In a brightly lit conference room, a group of people sat around a table, deep in discussion.
At the front of the room, a leader wearing half-rimmed glasses spoke with great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, in an inconspicuous corner, Bai Yuze sat with a vacant expression, seemingly lost in thought—or perhaps not. In his line of sight, the scene before him was entirely different from the reality of the meeting room.
He was no longer in the same world.
In his vision, he found himself in a cave filled with piles of purplish-brown flesh. The glowing objects above were low-level abyssal calamity beasts, clinging to the fleshy ceiling of the cave. They wriggled as they absorbed nutrients from the fleshy walls, their bodies emitting a faint green light that illuminated the damp, cold cavern. A putrid stench filled his nostrils.
At the center of the cave stood several calamity beasts, arranged in a clear hierarchy, gathered together as if discussing something. Bai Yuze was among them, close enough to smell their foul odor. The leader of the beasts was several times larger than the others, with two or three spikes protruding from the back of its head. Its skin was a deep green, and its limbs were thick and powerful. It stood at the forefront, roaring in anger...
Bai Yuze rested his chin on his hand, his gaze distant. Through the faint light in the cave, he observed the bizarre scenery around him. The cold, dim light brushed against his cheeks, sending a slight chill through him.
A sudden sound brought him back to reality—the leader’s speech had reached its climax.
The dark, damp cave transformed back into the clean, bright meeting room. The terrifying calamity beasts turned back into ordinary humans, and the foul stench that had filled his nose vanished without a trace.
The people sat on either side of the meeting table, and the roaring leader of the beasts had become a well-dressed executive, pointing out various issues from the past month.
However, this normal scene lasted only a few minutes before his vision shifted again. The putrid smells returned, filling his nostrils once more, and his expression grew subtly uneasy.
Half an hour later, the sound of chairs scraping against the floor signaled the end of the meeting. Bai Yuze’s eyes gradually focused, and he followed the crowd out of the room, walking down the hallway like a lifeless zombie.
Ah, another blissfully unproductive day.
No girlfriend, no parents, no money, and a mind plagued by illness.
But it didn’t matter. With just a little effort, he could show life just how useless he was.
Since life had always been terrible, he might as well embrace the laziness.
"Mr. Bai, are you feeling unwell?"
Bai Yuze suppressed the unease and fear in his heart, forcing a natural-looking smile onto his stiff face. He turned his gaze to the female figure beside him and replied with a smile, "I’m perfectly healthy. Thank you for your concern, Ms. Hoshino."
As he turned, he saw a female creature that perfectly matched his preferences.
Her figure was elegant and graceful, with smooth, ash-white skin that gleamed softly. Her eyes were like deep, unfathomable lakes, shimmering with an eerie blue light, as if they could peer into the depths of one’s soul. Delicate, slender antennae grew from her head, swaying gently and emitting a strange, alluring fragrance. Her limbs were long and powerful, with sharp claws at her fingertips. On her back were a pair of large wings, their feathers a pristine white.
Overall, her appearance was both mysterious and captivating. Unlike the other calamity beasts, she was not repulsive but rather evoked a sense of awe and fascination.
After a moment, his vision returned to normal, and the female creature transformed back into a gentle and lovely human woman.
For some reason, whenever this female teacher was nearby, his headaches seemed to lessen.
Her name was Hoshino Seri, from Higashi-Nippon City in Xia Country. Like him, she was a teacher at Ye Qiu City’s First High School. They worked in the same office, their desks adjacent to each other.
Ms. Hoshino was a kind and gentle person, an excellent math and psychology teacher, though she was somewhat introverted and didn’t like interacting with strangers. Over the past few months, however, they had discovered a shared interest in anime culture, and their relationship had grown closer.
"Usually, Mr. Bai tends to zone out during meetings, but these past few weeks, your condition seems a bit off," Hoshino Seri said, her bright eyes studying him intently.
"Huh? Was it that obvious? I’ll make sure to do better next time."
