The Warden of the Witches Chapter 173

 Chapter 173 - Leave a Contact

The next day, Qimora visited the Rose Prison as usual.

In the interview room, Aiden and Qimora stared at each other through the glass.

"You've finally figured it out," Qimora said with some satisfaction, she finally got a positive answer from aiden, and took a cigarette case out of her pocket. " it really took me quite some effort."

"Smoking is prohibited here," Aiden stopping her.

"You misunderstand, I want to give this to you." Qimora took out a black crystal pendant from the cigarette case which containing a constantly changing mist inside. "You're familiar with this, aren't you?"

"The Grand Witch token?" Aiden immediately recognized it.

"This is Abigail's intention," Qimora smiled.

"So, you want me to formally join your big family too?" Aiden raised an eyebrow. "But I'm a man."

The Witch Gathering is a group entirely composed of witches. In this world, contrary to the physical differences between the sexes, women have a much higher average talent in the study and application of black magic such as spiritual communication, magical potions, and demon contracts. Even Some spells and divinations can only be learned by women. And the Red Moon Night, which enhances the effects of black magic, benefits witches more. This directly results in the number of witches being much larger than warlocks, with some male black mages even transforming themselves into females to study specific spells.

"you have the ability to become a woman, don't you?" Qimora teased. "Don't worry, Abigail didn't mean to pull you into the Witch Gathering. From Abigail's perspective, your pursuit of forbidden knowledge isn't pure enough."

Indeed, Aiden had no interest in this regard. Whether it was in-depth research or practicing black magic, it was both technically challenging and dangerous, not to mention that it could attract the attention of the Inquisition.

That's why he basically never considered learning the black magic developed by Dailey and the others to strengthen himself.

"So, what are you planning?" Aiden asked, staring into Qimora eyes.

"Now that we've established a cooperative relationship, leaving a contact is necessary, isn't it? If all goes well and we receive your response, Abigail should hold a 'welcome party' tonight."

Aiden looked at the pendant for a while. After this period of time, this thing ended up back in his hands.

The practicality of this thing was indeed impeccable. In a world where telephones weren't widely used yet and mobile phones were nowhere to be seen, and long-distance communication relied on telegrams and shouting, Abigail had developed this black technology that could remotely open a holographic conference. If possible, he would like to get his hands on this kind of good thing in bulk and then... sell it for a hefty profit.

However, he also knew very well that magical items themselves often required rare materials from magical beasts and ores. The cost of such insanely effective magical items would probably be outrageous. Even without the "Black Magic Management Convention," there might not be a prospect for large-scale application.

"Is this pendant only capable of allowing the holder to attend your gatherings?" Aiden asked.

"Of course, do you want to invite others?" Qimora replied.

"I was just thinking, Dailey and Priscilla are also members of your group. Since we've already established cooperation, maybe we can involve them in this matter as well," Aiden replied calmly. "But it's okay if only I attend the meeting. It's safer for me that way."

Qimora expression suddenly showed some surprise.

"What's the matter? Is there a problem?" Aiden noticed her change in expression.

"It's just a bit unexpected," Qimora regained her composure. "To think that you're willing to enlist the help of an S-class wanted criminal in the prison, you're even more open-minded than I imagined."

"Make the most of what you have, and utilize everyone's talents," Aiden shrugged. "If you have good cards in hand, why would you discard them? Of course, they are still prisoners, so I've added a demon contract as insurance for them. I know that some of you have the ability to release demon contracts controlled by the Inquisition, so I prefer that you refrain from any contact outside the prison—I hope you can abide by this level of rule."

"I have no objections. However, regarding Dailey aside, Priscilla is currently quite resentful towards Abigail, just like Vera," Qimora chuckled meaningfully. "She might not be as enthusiastic."

"No need to worry, I've already persuaded her," Aiden replied calmly.

    "How did you manage that?"

"You might as well ask her directly when you meet with them," Aiden didn't directly answer that question.

Yesterday, when he discussed this matter with the two Grand Witches in Cell 12, Priscilla indeed showed no intention of cooperation.

At that time, she even said with a sarcastic tone, "Let us risk our lives for you, go to the 'Black Goat' to steal divinity to elevate you. At most, we'll get a year or two off our sentences. Your plan is quite ambitious."

After considering it, Aiden gave them a blank check: If he could successfully defeat the Bountifull Goddess cult and obtain divinity, he could share a portion of the divinity with them—however, the condition was that it would be after they completed their sentences and were released from prison.

Dailey and Priscilla's sentences were not short, and no matter how much they reduced them, there were limits. Dailey, who had been imprisoned for nearly five years, was manageable, but Priscilla, who possessed the dangerous technique of soul swapping, would probably have to spend at least another eight years in prison.

Aiden's idea was to observe them carefully before their release. If they showed signs of rehabilitation, then he would honor the agreement. But if there was still a possibility of them committing crimes, he would not hesitate to break the deal.

After much hesitation, Priscilla eventually agreed, considering that their situation in prison wouldn't change. Although there was a risk of Aiden breaking the agreement, this was their only chance to obtain divinity.

"Well then, please grace us with your presence at tonight's 'welcome party,'" Qimora said half-jokingly.

"I also happen want to meet Abigail," Aiden said, pointing to the pendant in Qimora hand. "Can i trouble you to deliver it to the reception desk, I'll pick it up there."

In the prison's interview room, it was strictly forbidden to pass any objects. There were no channels for passing objects through the glass barrier between them.

But Qimora smiled nonchalantly, "No need to bother."

With that, she reached out her hand, and her arm effortlessly passed through the glass barrier, placing the pendant she held on Aiden's side.

Before Aiden could react, Qimora stood up. "I have a craving for cigarettes, so I'll be heading back. Give my regards to those two for me. See you tonight, Warden."
