My Brother Can’t Possibly Be a Fallen Magical Girl Chapter 4 Part 2
Chapter 4 The Magical Girl Phantom Butterfly (Page 2)
“Fine, I get it.”
Bai Youqing was reluctant, but since her magical sprite had spoken, she decided to listen.
After all, Bai Youqing prided herself on being someone who heeded advice.
She hadn’t taken more than a few steps when the sense of danger and fear in her heart began to surge. Even though the path she was on should have led her out of the forest, the further she walked, the stronger the floral scent in the air became, and the more intense her feelings of dread grew.
It was like dropping mentos into a bottle of cola—everything erupted all at once.
A sense of emptiness and silence followed.
The chirping of summer cicadas that had been lingering in her ears vanished. Her Bluetooth earpiece was gone.
Even Xiao Ai, who had been by her side moments ago, had disappeared without a trace.
It was as if she were the only person left in this desolate world.
...
In the real world, a strange creature cloaked in a mysterious robe emerged slowly from the bushes. It stood about 1.6 meters tall, resembling a goblin, with pale bluish skin. In its bony hand, it held a lantern-like object emitting a faint glow.
If one looked closely, they would notice that the glow was slowly drifting toward Bai Youqing’s location.
Tiny specks of light were being inhaled by her, causing her to stand completely still.
As more of the glowing particles entered her, Bai Youqing’s face began to twist with increasing fear and terror. Xiao Ai frantically called out to her, but nothing could wake her.
“Roar!”
A furious roar echoed as the disaster beast Bai Youqing had previously injured emerged from the wetland forest.
Its body was covered in foul-smelling mud, and its feet were caked with wet soil. Clearly, it had hidden in the swamp after fleeing into the forest, which was why Bai Youqing hadn’t noticed it earlier.
“Xiao Qing, the disaster beast is here!”
“Bai Youqing!! Wake up!”
“Bai Youqing, your brother found your phone browsing history!!”
“Ugh, I shouldn’t have gone out with a rookie. I knew something like this would happen.”
Seeing the disaster beast drawing closer, Xiao Ai began to panic. Her emerald glow flickered brightly in the dark forest as she flew in another direction, seemingly trying to distract the beast.
The mud-covered beast hesitated. Compared to the motionless “ugly creature” in front of it, the flickering green sprite in the air seemed far more interesting.
Just as it was about to change direction, the cloaked “Abyssal Listener” standing by the bushes grew visibly agitated, almost furious.
“You big idiot, come back! Your target is that green, ugly female creature!” (in Abyssal tongue)
“Roar!”
The calamity beast didn’t understand its companion’s words, but since the Listener was of a higher rank, it had no choice but to obey.
Reluctantly, the beast turned its massive body, its blood-red eyes gleaming with malice. Ignoring the green sprite in the air, it charged toward the magical girl standing in the middle of the path.
At that moment, Bai Youqing, trapped in her nightmare, also sensed the impending danger. Especially after hearing Xiao Ai’s last words, she struggled harder to break free from the dream and finally woke up.
She tried to chant a spell to levitate into the air, but the magic failed. Around her, the clearing was enveloped in a faint, purple-patterned barrier.
The cloaked Abyssal creature stood nearby, chanting some kind of spell. There was no doubt that it was responsible for trapping her in the dream and disabling her magic.
Even though she had spotted the creature just ten meters away—a distance she could cover in a single dash—she couldn’t attack it.
The moment she opened her eyes, she saw the massive calamity beast lunging at her, its claws slashing through the air. It was less than two meters away, and she could clearly see the drool dripping from its jaws and the cruel, savage gleam in its lantern-like eyes.
Bai Youqing wanted to fight back, but it was too late.
“Am I going to die?”
