My Brother Can’t Possibly Be a Fallen Magical Girl Chapter 3 Part 2

Chapter 3: Disaster Beasts Attack (Page 2)

The messages and angry emojis were all from his younger sister.

Years of work experience had taught him one thing: learn to let go of minor conflicts and focus on the main issue. His eyes went straight to the last two lines of the message.

...

“Weakling brother, why aren’t you back yet?”

“Bai Yuze, I went to HuaRun Supermarket to buy snacks. Hurry back and cook. If I don’t see food ready when I get home, you know the consequences. 【Threatening emoji】.”

Reading these calm yet pointed words, he couldn’t help but let out a long sigh.

Ever since that year when he lost to his younger sister in a fight—despite her only using one hand—Bai Youqing had started calling him by his full name. Even when she occasionally called him “brother,” she would prefix it with “weakling.”

He opened another message.

It was from Professor Xingye. She mentioned that she had sent a friend request to Bai Youqing, but it hadn’t been accepted yet. She asked him to remind his sister to approve it.

This wasn’t urgent, though. He could talk to his sister about it when he got home. He’d just ask her to politely decline the request. After all, it fit the rebellious persona she had adopted.

“Sorry, Professor Xingye. You’re a good person, but...”

Standing by the window, Bai Yuze felt a wave of dejection wash over him as he thought about how he could never hold his head high in front of his sister.

He decided to turn off his phone and clear his mind, trying to ease the growing pain in his head.

The pain was a side effect of the increasingly intense “Abyss Vision” he had been experiencing lately. He felt like he was on the verge of breaking down. He avoided using the word “going mad,” like the protagonist Li Huowang from that popular novel a while back, because in his world, there were real, tangible disaster beasts...

“Holy crap, a disaster beast!”

As if on cue, a sudden shout snapped Bai Yuze out of his thoughts.

The first cry was followed by a chorus of gasps and exclamations.

The bus was currently on an elevated highway, offering a clear view of the surroundings. Not far away, near a towering building with a logo of two crystalline green leaves—HuaRun Supermarket, one of the most prominent shopping centers in YeQiu City—a massive disaster beast had appeared.

The beast stood about three meters tall, with two lantern-sized crimson eyes scanning the area for “prey.” Its back and fists were covered in sharp bone spikes, and its vital areas were protected by a layer of silvery armor made of an unknown material. This armor made it highly resistant to conventional human weaponry.

The sudden appearance of the disaster beast caused widespread panic among the nearby residents. However, when people realized there was only one beast, they quickly calmed down and began evacuating in an orderly manner toward the nearest shelters. Some even dared to stay behind, pulling out their phones to take pictures and post on social media.

A single disaster beast might cause casualties, but compared to the third wave of the Black Tide—when hundreds of disaster beasts had attacked the city—this was nothing.

Still, a disaster beast was a disaster beast. The city’s alarms and broadcast systems were quickly activated.

“Dear citizens, please be advised. A disaster beast has appeared near Changhong Road in YeQiu City. Changhong Road will be closed shortly. Please proceed to Shelter No. 114 in an orderly manner. Do not panic. The situation is expected to be resolved within half an hour...”

Within minutes, special vehicles arrived at the scene, and a team of heavily armed personnel in black uniforms stepped out. They didn’t engage the disaster beast directly—eliminating it was beyond their capabilities—but instead focused on dispersing the crowd and maintaining order.

Another minute or two passed...
