The Warden of the Witches Chapter 195
Chapter 195 - Anyone Who Looks at Him Gets Pregnant
“We… have been sold out?” Priscilla stared, somewhat dumbfounded.
Yes, sold out, Aiden thought.
He had considered the possibility of being backstabbed or betrayed by the Witches' Gathering, but he hadn't expected them to discard their dignity so quickly.
Originally, he had expected that, at most, after defeating the priest, the Witches' Gathering would directly seize the remains and take all the spoils.
As it turned out, the Witches' Gathering had started selling them out just as the battle began. Aiden had thought that no matter how low their standards were, there should be some limit. After all, their immediate defeat would do the Witches' Gathering no good.
He could imagine the trouble Lamia was facing; he had just encountered a battle nun who was pregnant with the priest's offspring.
If the thirty-two new nuns hoarded in the mine had also all conceived the chimera offspring through the priest's blood, then what Lamia was encountering was essentially a beast horde.
Given her abilities, accomplishing the bold claims she made in such circumstances wasn't an easy task. Moreover, there's a chance being found by Father Bales during the skirmish and so taking some measures was to be expected.
But to ensure their own combat strength wasn't compromised, these witches shamelessly diverted all the main battlefield pressure onto their allies.
Actually, Aiden had always thought about letting the Witches' Gathering bear the main pressure, while he would slack off and reap the benefits afterwards. However, he clearly couldn't reach the "level" of the Witches' Gathering.
At this moment, Aiden just wanted to say, although I never had any intention of sincere cooperation, you guys are really despicable!
After Qimora disappeared, the priest crouched down and then started rushing towards them.
Aiden immediately controlled the chimera corpse he had just revived with necromancy to charge at the priest recklessly. Since it had become a corpse, this chimera naturally wouldn't be controlled by the mother body as it was when alive.
These chimera born from the nuns were only miniature versions compared to the priest. The priest was about four meters tall, and the offspring were only half his height. Aiden just hoped this corpse could delay the priest a little, giving them some time to escape… at the very least, to create enough distance from the priest.
The priest was unlikely to directly influence the enemy with divine words, because if the enemy "asexually reproduced," the offspring would obey the enemy as the mother body, ultimately benefiting the enemy instead.
But if he fused his blood with the enemy and used the "reproduction" power to force the enemy to bear his offspring, it would be different.
As Abigail had mentioned earlier, fighting such an opponent at close or mid-range was not a wise choice, especially when the opponent was a saint.
"Fall back! Run!" Aiden said, then turned and ran.
Dailey and Priscilla hesitated for a moment but quickly followed. It was Veronica who reacted last, catching up with Aiden. "Sir, shouldn't we engage?"
"Those witches sold us out. This fight isn't worth it... Even if we have to fight, we need to create some distance. Even if we don't get caught by that monster, getting splashed by its blood would be deadly," Aiden responded calmly.
"Is his blood poisonous? Actually, my body has pretty good poison resistance... If you're willing to fight, I can try to hold him off from the front!" Veronica volunteered.
She still wanted to take advantage of their numerical superiority to deal with the monster. Given her physical condition and her proficiency in police combat techniques, she could manage to hold her own against a large beast for a while.
But Aiden didn't even look at her and simply replied, "If you get splashed by his blood, you'll get pregnant."
"Huh....?" Veronica was stunned.
"If you get splashed by that blood, regardless of whether you're a man or a woman, you'll conceive that monster's offspring. Then the monster will burst out from inside your body, just like the nun we encountered earlier," Aiden further explained.
Veronica's face immediately turned pale. Conceiving a monster's offspring and then having the parasitic beast burst out from within—this was probably the most unacceptable way to die for her.
"Hey, slow down a bit!" Priscilla shouted.
After running just a few steps, she and Dailey had already fallen behind significantly.
As a werewolf, Veronica's physical prowess was naturally impressive, and Aiden, being a former senior inquisitor, was also in excellent shape, not to mention his ability to use body modifications. However, the witch, who spent her days buried in research in the workshop, struggled to keep up.
By now, the priest in the distance had already torn off the corpse clinging to him with brute force, ripping it in half and throwing it to the ground with a mighty heave.
Then he started running towards them in large strides. After a few steps, he kicked off the ground with his hooves, leaping into the air while flapping his wings, quickly gaining altitude.
He was trying to catch up from the air!
Aiden glanced back and saw the priest tearing open his wound again, letting blood gush out, and transforming into a spray of blood rain in the air, descending towards them.
In desperation, Aiden began reciting a divine word of "Order." By now, he had gradually adapted to using divine words and could wield this power more freely.
The power of "Return"—he commanded these "filthy substances" to return to their original place!
The droplets of blood, suspended by a mystical force, reversed their trajectory and ascended.
However, Aiden's divine words had a distance limitation. The blood droplets didn't return to the priest's wound but instead stopped at a certain height, as if time had frozen. The result was an invisible barrier forming around Aiden, blocking all the priest's blood.
Taking advantage of the divine word still in effect, Aiden and the others quickly moved out of the blood rain's range.
The priest's eyes widened. He recognized the voice coming from Aiden's mouth—it was the language of the Dominator.
He abandoned the idea of diving from the air and instead descended rapidly.
Aiden noticed the priest's movement and sensed something was off.
Even though Father Bales failed to splash them with blood, he still had a chance to close the distance, at least catching up to the lagging Dailey and Priscilla.
Simply seeing Aiden use a relatively harmless divine word and then halting the pursuit seemed overly cautious for someone on the verge of grasping divine power as a "saint." Moreover, he had no reason to fear being killed.
Father Bales appeared hesitant. For some reason, as if guided by intuition, Aiden suddenly felt the urge to test the opponent.
"Dailey!" he turning his head and shouted,.
Dailey understood immediately. She swung her short staff, turned, and pointed it at Father Bales, and chanting a spell.
Shadows in the distance churned rapidly, and a massive black claw emerged from the darkness, grabbing the priest's hoof just as he landed.
