The Warden of the Witches Chapter 201

Chapter 201 - The Dead Warden

It's over—this thought flashed through Lamia's mind, but she quickly realized that something was off about the sensation of her hands stabbing into the Nun chest and throat.

She had killed many people using this method and personally conducted countless human dissections, so she was intimately familiar with the expected sensation.

The Nun body suddenly swelled like a balloon, bursting through her robe. The moment Lamia's claws penetrated her body, it automatically split rapidly in a way that almost divided the entire body, allowing a new body to grow from the back.

Lamia was taken aback as the Nun detached from her old shell from behind, leaving only a lifeless, headless shell on Lamia's claws.

The next moment, Lamia understood: the Nun had long given herself the authority of "reproduction," and constantly prepared to split.

This reproductive splitting could directly create a completely new body, organs, limbs, and, to some extent, surpassed the healing capabilities achievable by black magic and biological alchemy.

When Lamia's claws struck, the Nun used reproductive splitting to quickly divide her body, thus avoiding fatal injuries. Simultaneously, the Nun precisely controlled the body division to create a new set of vital organs and even a whole body, leaving only a defective "stillborn" at the original spot.

Lamia realized her mistake; she should have twisted off the Nun head in that moment!

This miscalculation was quite deadly. She hadn't killed the Nun, and once again, her hands were stained with the Nun's blood.

The Nun raised her hand, pointing at Lamia, ready to use the power of "reproduction."

But at that moment, Qimora, who had been prepared, acted first, reciting a divine incantation.

With the divine words of the "Void" authority, Qimora declared that the Nun blood and flesh left on Lamia would be "nullified."

The mutilated corpse suddenly slipped through Lamia's claws and fell straight to the ground, as if Lamia had suddenly become a ghost without a physical body. Even the blood that should have stuck to her hands passed through.

This was another power of the "Void" authority. Qimora could declare something to lose its effect on a specific target. The more specific the concept of the declared thing, the stronger the effect. This is why she could effortlessly pass through walls and bullets.

Qimora couldn't nullify the divine words of the Nun but could temporarily make the dead fetus and the Nun's flesh and blood lose their effect on Lamia.

However, this effect was bidirectional, meaning Lamia also couldn't inflict effective harm on the Nun body for the time being.

Lamia used her serpent tail to push herself back, quickly retreating. Once the effect of the divine words wore off, she would be attacked by the restored nuns, with the Sister Nawei still standing before her. No number of lives would be enough then.

"How about it, want to go again?" Qimora asked Lamia, who had retreated.

The recent attack was merely a probe, and to some extent, it had been effective—they had gauged the precision of the Nun abilities. This saint before them could use reproductive splitting to achieve instant self-healing.
Without a way to prevent her from splitting or a method to kill her in an instant, it would be impossible to eliminate her.

Moreover, even if they did manage to kill her, she still had the power of "inheritance."

"Forget it, this woman is too hard to kill... and even if we manage to kill her, it wouldn't mean much," Lamia thought. The same attack method might not work again. Qimora's divine words greatly increased their combat tolerance, but the difficulty of killing the Nun remained high.

After dealing with several manipulated corpses, Hasbinis ascended into the air, wary of getting involved. Seeing that Qimora and Lamia had both used their divine words without success, she dismissed any notion of descending for a sneak attack.

After a brief consideration, Qimora nodded silently. Without identifying the true inheritor, there was no way to completely kill the Nun. It was time for them to withdraw.

She could still use the power of the "Void" authority to erase her and Lamia's presence, making them vanish like smoke before the Nun eyes.

Of course, this could only be used as a means of escape. Any attack on the Nun during this period would immediately reveal their presence again.

A large figure swept over the nearby rooftops and descended from the sky. The Nun turned to see a chimera, standing over four meters tall, landing behind her.

Father Bales.

In the priest's hand, he held a corpse that was already twisted and deformed.

Father Bales lowered his head and threw the corpse he was holding onto the ground for the Nun to see.

The gathered witches widened their eyes in shock—the corpse in the priest's hand was none other than Aiden Galord, the Warden of the Rose Prison and former Chief Inquisitor!

He was dead!

Qimora and Lamia exchanged glances. The Nun was the true saint, which meant Father Bales was likely a false saint. While he might possess some reproductive abilities, he couldn't be as close to divine authority as the Nun. In other words, compared to the Nun, Father Bales should have been an easy target, someone they thought had simply gotten lucky.

Yet, here he was, having killed Aiden Galord, who had the support of two other witches and the mercury alloy golem made by Vera and Abigail, and who himself wielded the divine words of "Order."

"I only expected you to stall him, but you actually managed to kill this heretical rat... Well done!" the Nun glanced back.

At this point, her powers had already been exposed to the witches, so there was no need to continue the pretense of father-daughter with the priest.

"Only these three are left. Go after the one in the sky; capture her alive if possible," she commanded coldly.

"Understood," Father Bales bowed his head in obedience.

"Damn!" Hasbinis immediately prepared to flee. While the priest's flying speed couldn't match hers, he could at least fly, which posing some threat.

Qimora and Lamia gave up completely. With Aiden dead, Dailey and Priscilla were likely dead as well. One Nun was already tough to kill, and now with Father Bales... this battle was impossible to win.

As they prepared to make a swift escape, the priest behind the Nun suddenly, and without warning, extended his hands and grabbed the Nun head.
