The Warden of the Witches Chapter 204

 Chapter 204 - Giving You a Chance

After confirming that the other party had completed the inheritance, Aiden greeted the nun briefly before swiftly drawing his gun and aiming at her face.

He had Dailey and Veronica inspect the nun's inherited body beforehand. This body seemed to carry a trace of magical beast blood, but not much—certainly not to the extent of the priest who could transform into a beast.

At this range, a single shot could blow her head off.

The nun glared at Aiden, but her expression quickly changing.

She realized she couldn't move at all; an iron coffin, not much larger than her body, had completely enveloped her.

"Don't struggle needlessly. I've already seen your abilities. This device was specifically prepared for you. If you try to forcefully split inside it, even if I don't shoot your head off, you'll be squeezed to death," Aiden calmly advised.

The nun tried to struggle, but was immediately met with a stabbing pain—the inside of the iron coffin seemed to morph, sprouting spikes whenever she moved.

Aiden watched her futile efforts in silence. This torture device, created by the mercury alloy golem, was now almost indistinguishable from a true Iron Maiden. The nun's power of "reproduction" either required her to give birth herself or use her blood to force others to bear offspring with her bloodline. As long as her body was confined, her power was sealed.

Without the ability to use "reproduction," the power of "evolution" was also useless. As for "inheritance"… having just completed one inheritance, the nun couldn't use it again so soon.

Abigail had not lied to him about one thing: this life-infused mercury alloy golem was indeed very effective against the power of the "reproduction" authority.

In the conflict between the Witches' gathering and the bountiful Mother Goddess cult, even the inquisition of the autonomous state got involved. Yet, in the end, the fruits of victory fell into Aiden's hands.

Uncertain if Abigail could locate him through the token, Aiden casually hid the Grand Witch's token in a random spot and had Veronica and Dailey stand guard in the room above.

With Dailey shadow demon and Veronica's keen senses, not even a mouse could slip into the house unnoticed. Qimora might be able to sneak in, but in a village this large, it would be like finding a needle in a haystack.

If the Witches' gathering had a way to conduct a thorough search inside and outside the village, the heir's position would have been exposed long ago.

Everything was going smoothly, so smoothly that even Aiden found it hard to believe.

The disguise tactics of the bountiful Mother Goddess cult and the small maneuvers of the Witches' gathering had collided, allowing him to capture Father bales first. Father bales betrayal then led him to the opportunity to capture sister nawei. It was as if an invisible, intangible hand had orchestrated everything for him.

Upon reflection, it did seem that way. His decision to join forces with the Witches' gathering against the Cult had been influenced by the fortune teller, Melissa's persuasion. Who claimed to be a follower of mephilia...

This gave Aiden the sense that the outcome might have been foreseen by Mephilia and Melissa, but he quickly decided it didn't matter even if it had been orchestrated. He needed to seize divinity as much as possible.

"I told you, don't make futile resistance," Aiden repeated coldly. "The bountiful Mother Goddess cult has caused a major incident in the autonomous state. Law enforcement officers have been killed by you. You're already on the purge list. If you resist, I will kill you without hesitation. This is your only warning."

sister nawei remained silent for a long time before speaking, "The fact that you found this body means Herbert betrayed me..."

"Herbert?" Aiden was initially confused, then glancing at the priest occupying Priscilla body, realizing this was Father bales' name.

Having been killed by the suddenly appearing Father bales and then having her inherited body found by the enemy, the Nun slowly understood she had been betrayed by her own son—even though she still didn't understand how the priest completely resisted the bloodline's call.

"That traitor, I should have killed him when he was born!" the Nun cursed venomously. Her voice sounded young, but her tone was that of a bitter old woman to Aiden.

Considering that the body housed a woman over two hundred years old, it wasn't surprising.

Father bales clenched his jaw, his facial muscles tightening in response to her words.

"You never treated your children well and expected them to obey you wholeheartedly. That's a bit too optimistic," Aiden said sarcastically.

The Nun glared at him.

"Let me confirm, you are indeed the Queen of the old reiss Kingdom, correct?" Aiden pointed at the Nun.

"Yes," she glared at Aiden coldly, "are you a remnant of the Flying Spaghetti Monster cult? A lackey of the Reaper?"

Aiden recalled that the nameless witch seemed to have been summoned to this world by the Reaper. The Nun clearly knew that the Flying Spaghetti Monster cult was driven by the Reaper, which confirming Aiden's suspicion that the Reaper orchestrated the fall of the old reiss Kingdom.

"To be honest, I have no connection to the Reaper or the witch who killed you. You’ve got the wrong enemy," Aiden said, folding his arms.

The priest glanced at Aiden with slight surprise, while the Nun face showed disbelief, "The Flying Spaghetti Monster cult appeared out of nowhere during my reign, vanished for two hundred years, and now reappears with you. You want me to believe this is a coincidence?"

Aiden thought to himself that she probably wouldn't believe the truth—it really was a coincidence.

But Mephilia mentioned that the bountiful Mother Goddess cult was also searching for the fortune teller Melissa... Considering this, the conflict between the cult and him seemed to persist.

Fortune teller Melissa was a follower of Mephilia, who was summoned by the Blood Moon Cult... Given this, forces searching for Melissa might eventually come to Silver City.

What a hassle, Aiden thought.

"Whether you believe it or not, that's the truth," Aiden replied calmly. "To make a long story short, you're in my hands now, but I'm still willing to give you a chance."

"A chance?" the Nun looked suspicious.

"Cooperate with me and surrender," Aiden paused before continuing, "that way, I can spare your life."

Father bales' eyes widened in surprise upon hearing this.

"You want to put me in prison?" The Nun frowned.

"I'm the one in charge of the prison, and this is the method I'm most accustomed to," Aiden said slowly. "Of course, I'm not going to throw someone into prison whom I can't control, so you must relinquish your divine power and transfer it to me."
