My Brother Can’t Possibly Be a Fallen Magical Girl Chapter 2 Part 3

Chapter 2: Nursing Home (Page 3)

**Just a year later, the second Black Tide Crisis erupted.**

Spatial rifts appeared once again, but this time, they weren’t limited to East City. They emerged all over the world, primarily in highly developed cities like New York, Washington, London...

Faced with this situation, humanity was on the verge of despair. They couldn’t possibly drop nuclear bombs on their own cities, could they?

At this critical moment, magical creatures akin to Pokémon appeared. These beings could form magical contracts with young human girls, granting them the power to combat the Disaster Beasts.

Soon, the second Black Tide Crisis came to an end, and humanity finally found a glimmer of hope for resistance.

That same month, humanity established the Earth Abyss Handling Security Bureau. The girls who formed contracts with these magical beings were officially dubbed "Judicators," a title widely accepted by the older generation.

However, the younger generation preferred to call them "Magical Girls," with the anime and manga community leading the charge. They even formed fan clubs for their favorite Magical Girls, cheering them on during battles. It wasn’t uncommon to spot these die-hard fans lurking in the ruins during fights, despite official regulations explicitly prohibiting such behavior. Yet, nothing could curb their enthusiasm.

Even the Judicators themselves secretly preferred the term "Magical Girls." The term was brimming with youthful energy and a sense of girlish charm—after all, who didn’t have a bit of a  girl’s heart? Over time, except in official documents, most people referred to them as Magical Girls.

During this period of repeated Black Tide Crises, humanity also categorized the Disaster Beasts based on their destructive impact on society and the difficulty of combating them. The hierarchy was as follows:

**<Falling Star, Eclipsed Moon, Descending Sun, Asura, Crystal Wall>**

---

**The Third Black Tide Crisis**

During this crisis, humanity, emboldened by the power of the Magical Girls, believed they could easily fend off the Abyss’s assault. Overconfidence led to a rude awakening, and the cost was devastating.

The Disaster Beasts emerging from the spatial rifts were significantly stronger. In the first two Black Tides, most Disaster Beasts ranged between **Falling Star** and **Eclipsed Moon** in strength. By the third wave, their overall power had escalated. The weakest among them were now at the **Eclipsed Moon** level, with **Descending Sun** and **Asura**-level beasts forming the core forces. At the pinnacle were the three **Crystal Wall**-level Demon Princesses, and finally, the Abyss Lord—a colossal titan rivaling Godzilla in size, summoned by the three Demon Princesses.

The victory came at a tremendous cost. Humanity’s population plummeted from a peak of 7.4 billion to 4 billion. Two-thirds of the Magical Girls were lost in the fight. Out of 24 human defense fortresses, 14 were breached. Countless bustling cities were reduced to ruins overnight.

Peng Liang’s family was among those lost during this crisis.

---

“Let’s not dwell on the past. When are you going to let me meet your future wife? The elder here are getting anxious. If you can’t find anyone, I can introduce you to a few candidates,” Peng Liang teased with a mischievous grin.

“Tsk, I’m in no rush. I’m more curious about how you’re planning to handle your two gorgeous girlfriends. I’d hate to one day find myself mourning your headless corpse,” Bai Yuze shot back, glancing at his friend. Peng Liang stood at 185 cm, looking every bit the tall, goofy guy.

Bai Yuze then caught a glimpse of himself in the nearby glass: 178 cm, with short black hair, sharp features, and a somewhat androgynously handsome face. His eyes sparkled with a certain brightness, and his well-toned physique, while not imposing, was at least more refined than Peng Liang’s.

So why was it that Peng Liang had two girlfriends while he had none? Life was truly unfair.

“You laugh at Brother Cheng for leaving early, but Brother Cheng laughs at you for having no game. Don’t worry, they’re both my wings. I’ve got this under control. It’s getting dark, you damn sis-con. Hurry home and cook dinner, or you’ll end up crashing at my place again, ruining my quality time with my girlfriends.”

Peng Liang emphasized the word “quality time” with a smirk.

“As if I’m scared of my sister. I just let her have her way,” Bai Yuze retorted, though his eyes betrayed him as he glanced at the darkening sky.

Unnoticed, the moon had risen, and the day was fading. It was indeed time to head home.

“Damn it, you traitor. Acting like I enjoy staying at your place.”

“Yeah, yeah, you’re so noble and righteous. Next time your sister kicks you out, don’t come crawling to my place for food and shelter.”

Bai Yuze: “......”
