My Brother Can’t Possibly Be a Fallen Magical Girl Chapter 5 Part 2

Chapter 5 Ink Traces Teahouse (Page 2)

However, this fleeting thought was soon drowned out by an overwhelming surge of killing intent.

Abyssal monsters deserved to be slain. Even if they appeared defenseless, she could not afford to show any mercy.

*Crack!*

A crisp sound of a shield shattering echoed through the wetland park.

With a single strike, the protective barrier surrounding the "Abyssal monster" was instantly destroyed.

Oh? This "Abyssal monster" had a spirit guardian?

Why would an Abyssal monster have a spirit guardian?

The question barely surfaced in her chaotic mind before it vanished into the fog of her thoughts.

As she prepared to swing her blade again, the figure of the "Abyssal monster" on the gray ground began to shift, revealing a face that was both unfamiliar and eerily familiar.

The magical girl, had her magical energy depleted, began to lose her transformation. Her magical attire dissolved into emerald-green particles of light and faded away.

In that moment, a sliver of clarity broke through the haze in her mind.

Bai Youqing?

Memories of the past came crashing down, enveloping her in a shadow of pain, fear, and unease...

She couldn’t stay here any longer. She had to leave while she still had a shred of sanity. Otherwise, knowing her own nature toward Abyssal monsters, she would not hesitate to strike.

Walking through the narrow, familiar yet alien alleyways, she brushed past countless "disaster beasts" coming and going. The signs on the streets bore strange, unrecognizable characters.

For a moment, she felt utterly abandoned by the world. Perhaps that "human" had been right—she had been away for too long. It was time to go home.

But she quickly dismissed the thought. The idea of living harmoniously with disaster beasts was absurd.

Her mind was a battlefield, one wave of thoughts suppressing another. Every time she tried to correct the distorted "common sense" in her mind, a searing pain would slice through her head, like a saw grinding against her skull. With each pull and push, her thoughts, memories, and ideas fell away like wood shavings, leaving her mind blank. Her body moved on autopilot, guided by this warped "common sense."

The more she struggled to think, the worse the pain became, until her mind was completely empty.

If she stopped thinking, the pain would subside, but the worldview, values, and beliefs she was left with were utterly wrong—completely alien to those of a human.

Still, she had grown accustomed to it. Ever since the third wave of the Black Tide, she had been fighting daily against the anti-human "common sense" invading her mind. Over time, she had managed to stabilize somewhat. Just when she thought she had finally returned to normal, the Abyss had slapped her back into reality.

When she saw the new magical girl today, the powder keg within her exploded.

It shattered the last remnants of her hope and delusion.

A magical girl tainted by the Abyss could never return to being normal, no matter how hard she struggled.

The Mgical Girl, Phantom Butterfly, staggered like a drunken girl, weaving through the alleyways. Sensing movement around her, a faint trace of confusion flickered in her dazed eyes...

Why were disaster beasts approaching her? Shouldn’t the presence of a Mgical Girl naturally deter them?

In the blink of an eye, three small, grotesque disaster beasts appeared beside her.

The girl leaped to the left.
